International Business News – Vietnam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development statistics show that as of September 2022, Vietnam’s total aquatic production has reached 6.75 million tons, up 2.7% from the same period last year. Among them, farmed aquatic production is 3.87 million tons, up 7% year-on-year, while captured aquatic production is 2.88 million tons, down 2.5% year-on-year.
Year-to-date, Vietnam’s aquatic product exports reached $7.6 billion, up 37.3% year-on-year, completing 84.8% of the annual plan, and exports are expected to reach $10 billion for the year. In the first half of this year, Vietnam’s exports of balsa fish and shrimp alone amounted to nearly $4 billion, up 82 percent and 40 percent year-on-year, respectively.
Vietnam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development pointed out that in order to promote the sustainable development of Vietnam’s aquatic industry, enterprises, rural cooperatives and family households should continue to improve the level of industrialization and modernization of the aquatic industry, the development of the industry and improve the material living standards of the people and the construction of a new rural goal effectively combined.
